SDC Ron Bandur retiring March 1st

Ron BunderWe announce the retirement of one of our valued employees on March 1st, 2013. Ron Bandur has been the back bone of SDC technical support since 1994, and he has decided that the time has come to retire.

Ron has contributed immensely to SDC, and his achievements will not be forgotten. We are fortunate to have him remain with us on a part time basis as we transition technical support to fill his void. Ron will continue to manage some of our International Sales and Support activity remotely. He will also be on-site for technical support Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Don’t be surprised if you see him at the trade shows assisting SDC.

I was excited when I saw the new LR100 Series Electric latch retraction kit from Security Door Controls (SDC). The kit enables electric access control and dogging of mechanical exit devices. When energized the motor retracts the exit device latch and pulls the pushpad into the dogged (depressed) position enabling momentary or sustained push and pull operation of the door. The latch retraction mechanism may be activated by an access control, remote control device or building automation system. The device is quiet and has an inrush current of only 450mA with 180mA continuous current. It is designed for use in UL three-hour fire-rated doors as well.
